James C. Smith
James C. Smith, 70, of Prospect passed away Friday at the Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice.
He was born Aug. 23, 1945, in Oil City, the son of the late James Boyd Smith and the late Dorothy B. (Sullinger) Smith.
James retired from MSA-Callery Chemical and Marshall Security.
He enjoyed hunting, camping, biking, making maple syrup and his ham radio.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and is a member of Church of God at Connoquenessing.
Surviving are his wife, Linda L. (Welsbacher) Smith, whom he married Nov. 7, 1970; two daughters, Sarah Smith and her husband, Jim, of Portersville and Emily (Jonathan) Kline of Butler; two sons, James Paul (Cindy) Smith of Renfrew and Russell Smith of Portersville; and six grandchildren, Meganne, Heidi, Jorja, Jack, Brooklyn, and Cambria.
He also was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
SMITH — Friends of James C. Smith, who died Friday, Oct. 23, 2015, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. until time of services at noon Monday at the Church of God at Connoquenessing, 1247 Evans City Road, Connoquenessing.
