Robert L. Ruediger Sr.
Robert L. Ruediger Sr., 76, of Herman, husband of Charlotte C. (Convery) Ruediger, was reunited with the Lord on their 55th wedding anniversary at 5:15 a.m. Thursday.
He was born Dec. 12, 1938, in Tarentum, a son of the late Harold Ruediger and Elizabeth (Fotheringham) Ruediger.
Bob was formerly employed at Pittsburgh Metals, Neal Leasing (Advocate Services) and Butler Auto Auction.
He was a Eucharistic minister and a member of Saint Mary of the Assumption Parish, the Herman Volunteer Fire Department and the Roman Catholic Men's Club.
He was a Sir Knight of the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree/Color Corp. and a soldier of the U.S. Army Reserve, where he served six years.
He lovingly fathered four children, Elizabeth “Betty” Hoffman and her husband, John, Darlene Harbison, Robert L. Ruediger Jr. and Gerald Ruediger and his wife, Stephanie. Bob's family also includes 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and continues to grow by leaps and bounds. Also surviving are his two brothers, Harold Ruediger Jr. and David Ruediger.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers.
RUEDIGER — Friends of Robert L. Ruediger Sr., who died Thursday, Oct 29, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Parish Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Conrad's Fund in care of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 821 Herman Road, Butler, PA 16002.
