Doris J. McDonald, 90, of Mars died Saturday morning at the Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Born Nov. 12, 1924, in Callery, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Marie Johnston Dunbar.

Doris had worked as a clerk for the Gimbel's Department Store in North Hills, and she later worked at the Mars and Evans City drug stores for many years.

She was a member of the Dutilh United Methodist Church at the Mars Campus.

Surviving are her son, David L. McDonald and his wife, Barb, of Butler; her daughter, Joy Hart and her husband, Frank Slimick, of Slippery Rock; her grandchildren, Kelly Duckett, Erik McDonald, Jonell Hart and Brandon Taylor; her great-grandchildren, Wesley and Robert Duckett and Aubrey and Declan Taylor; two brothers, James Dunbar and his wife, Pat, and Lawrence “Pony” Dunbar and his wife, Lucy, both of Evans City; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles V. “Bud” McDonald, who she married Sept. 25, 1944, and who died Sept. 2, 1993; her sisters, Katherine Leonberg and Sarah Kennedy; and her brothers, William Grant Dunbar, Chester “Buck” Dunbar, John Dunbar and Clifford Dunbar.

MCDONALD — Friends of Doris J. McDonald, who died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Mars Cemetery, Adams Township.Memorials may be made to the Adams Area Fire District, P.O.
