Virginia Isenberg

Virginia Ann Janke Isenberg, 68, of Slippery Rock passed away holding the hand of her son William at Butler Memorial Hospital on Wednesday.

She was born in Allegheny County on Oct. 26, 1947, to Charles Wilhelm Janke and Dorothy Dobson Janke.

Virginia retired in 2005 from OPM, Office of Personnel Management, in Boyers.

She enjoyed playing games including spades and was a champion on trivia, Quizz Show, playing numerous trivia games on Facebook and making many friends throughout the world.

She was a Lutheran.

She enjoyed gardening, playing bingo and picking berries. She enjoyed life and loved being with her dog Mitch.

Survivors include a daughter, Laura L. Isenberg of Butler; two sons, William D. Isenberg of Grove City and John R. Isenberg of Grand Prairie, Texas; a sister, Shirley Crider (Ralph) of Florida; and a brother, Robert Janke (Ricki) of Slippery Rock.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Samantha; and a brother, Ronald.

Her second brother, Charles Janke, passed away two hours after Virginia's passing.

ISENBERG — A public graveside service for Virginia Ann Janke Isenberg, who died on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, will be observed at 11 a.m. Monday at Prairie Cemetery in Harrisville, followed by interment in Prairie Cemetery.Arrangements are handled by the Smith Funeral Home, Slippery Rock.
