Helen Madeline (Gavula) Profota
Helen Madeline (Gavula) Profota, 91, formerly of Butler and Pawley's Island, S.C., passed away peacefully Oct. 2 in Concord, N.C.
In her early years, she was a legal secretary for the Marshall Law Office and worked in the personnel department at Armco (AK) Steel.
Helen was an avid golfer and loved her many friends in Pawley's Island.
She was the loving mother of Michael F. Palace (Joan) of Huntersville, N.C.; the grandmother of Daniel (Maggie) Palace and Michael Palace Jr.; the loving aunt of Christine (Steve) Bradway of New Jersey and Francis Elliott of Butler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Frank “Mac” Palace and Walter Profota Sr.; and seven brothers and sisters.
PROFOTA — Funeral services for Helen Madeline (Gavula) Profota, who died Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church, 105 Kohler Ave., Lyndora.
