Joann E. McClaine
Joann E. McClaine, 83, of East Brady died Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 22, 1932, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of James and Margaret (Weibel) Byrnes.
She attended St. Kierans Catholic School in Lawrenceville and graduated in 1950. On Aug. 29, 1953, Joann married Joseph McClaine. They enjoyed 62 loving years together.
Joann was a homemaker, but in her earlier years she worked in the East Brady High School Cafeteria and for a number of years at the Travelers Hotel.
She was a member of St. Eusebius Roman Catholic Church in East Brady, where she was a member of the former Ladies Guild. She was also a member of the East Brady Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and a former East Brady Council Member. Joann enjoyed trips to the casino, playing bingo, cards and sunny days sitting by the pool. Above all, Joann loved caring for her family being “MaMa” to her grandkids.
She is survived by her husband, Joe McClaine of East Brady; two daughters, Lynn King and her husband, Rocky, of Bradys Bend and Amy Easley and her fiance, Michael Vasbinder, of East Brady; two sons, Joe Pat McClaine and his wife, Brenda, of East Brady and Edward McClaine and his fiance, Chris Rettig, of Chicora; and 10 grandchildren, Patrick McClaine, Luke McClaine, Andrew McClaine, Lakein Rue, Maggie Slater, Mallory Robinson, Nicholas King, Holly Mayo, Chad King and Christopher Easley.
She also is survived by 13 great-grandchildren, many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant sister; and two brothers, James and Robert Byrnes.
MCCLAINE — Friends of Joann E. McClaine, who died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015, will be received from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Buechele Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 707 Kellys Way, East Brady. A Parish prayer service will be at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Eusebius Roman Catholic Church with the Rev.
