Owen D. Rape
Owen D. Rape, 93, of Harmony passed away Wednesday at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.
Born in Zelienople, he was the son of the late Howard William and Della Romaine (Scheel) Rape.
Owen was a member of the Harmony-Zelienople United Methodist Church and a former member of the Zion Lutheran Church, where he was very active.
He worked for Universal Manufacturing as a welder for 42 years until his retirement.
Owen volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was involved with the Harmony Historical Society. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved gardening, woodworking and making birdhouses. He was also a huge sports fan, especially of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Owen will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Bruce (Pat) Rape of St. Joseph, Ill., and Donna (Joe) Hauschulz of Pittsburgh; his granddaughter, Lindsay (Chris) Yates of Long Beach, Calif.; and his great-granddaughter, Julia.
In addition to his parents, Owen was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen I. Rape, who passed away on April 5, 2007, and his sister, Ruth Rape.
RAPE — The family of Owen D. Rape, who died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015, will welcome friends from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Monday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.Owen will be laid to rest at St. Peter's Reformed Church Cemetery in Zelienople.Memorial donations may be made in his honor to the Harmony Historical Society, P.O.
