Gertrude D. Duke, 102, of Saxonburg passed away peacefully Wednesday at her home surrounded by her family.

Born July 1, 1913, in Herman, she was the daughter of George Kraus and Sophia Mages Kraus.

Gertie was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Cabot, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers.

Surviving are her daughter, Patricia LeClere of Pittsburgh; her granddaughter, Christine (James) LeClere Hilliard; three great-grandchildren, Lauren LeClere, Lilah Kathryn Hilliard and Frazer LeClere Hilliard; and two great-great-grandchildren, Aria Grisib and Brinley Grisib.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John J. Duke, Aug. 26, 1984; her grandson, John Duke LeClere; one brother; and six sisters.

DUKE — Friends of Gertrude D. Duke, who died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Fox Funeral Home, Saxonburg.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. William Graham officiating.Private interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Herman.Memorial donations may be made to the John J.
