Indicted Rep. Fattah retains new lawyers

PHILADELPHIA — An indicted congressman has retained new lawyers for his May trial on bribery and money laundering charges.

U.S. Rep. Chaka Fattah, a Philadelphia Democrat, has said he had trouble paying his former firm because he was focused on raising money for the April 26 primary.

U.S. District Judge Harvey Bartle III previously refused to let lawyers Kevin Mincey and Thomas Fitzpatrick step down over the non-payments. Mark Lee and Samuel Silver of Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis signed on Thursday.
