CONNOQUENESSING TWP — Fire early this morning damaged a detached garage at a home in the 100 block of Harmony Street.

A cause of the blaze was not immediately known, fire officials said. No one was injured.

The homeowner apparently spotted the fire shortly before 12:25 a.m. and notified 911.

About 30 firefighters from Connoquenessing, Evans City and Butler Township Fire District 3 helped extinguish the blaze at the two-stall garage, which at the time contained mostly tools and other items.

Fire officials noted that the garage, which sustained moderate damage, was equipped with heat, water and electricity.

Fire crews remained on scene for about an hour and 20 minutes.
