Betty G. Zanot

Betty G. Zanot, 88, of East Brady died Monday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler.

Born April 11, 1927, in Sandy Hollow, Clarion County, she was the daughter of Lincoln and Nellie (Noonan) Snyder.

On June 6, 1949, Betty married Herman Jildo Zanot. He preceded her in death Aug. 23, 2001.

A graduate of Rimersburg High School, Betty attended Clarion State College and was a wartime teacher at the one-room school houses in Sandy Hollow and New Athens. Later, in addition to raising a family, she was the East Brady office manager for Dr. Robert Todd DMD for many years.

Betty was a member of St. Eusebius Roman Catholic Church in East Brady. An avid sports fan, she enjoyed cheering for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers and Penguins. Betty liked tending to her flower gardens and was never far from her cats.

She is survived by one daughter, Jody Miller and her husband, Kenneth, of Rehoboth, Mass., and two sons, Michael Zanot and his wife, Amy, of Butler and Kevin Zanot of Pittsburgh.

Betty is also survived by two granddaughters, Lauren and Tracy; and her cats, Baby Gray and Paws.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one infant daughter; one sister, Elsie Fasenmeyer; and one brother, Fred Snyder.

ZANOT — Friends of Betty G. Zanot, who died Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Buechele Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 707 Kellys Way East Brady.A parish prayer service will be at 3:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Eusebius Roman Catholic Church, East Brady, with the Rev. William Kuba officiating.
