Butler ready for its close-up

City, Saxonburg to be on TV show

Butler and Saxonburg will be featured next week on the television show “World’s Greatest” several months after contributors to the program visited Butler County to capture some of its sights.

The show’s 225th episode will air at 6 a.m. Monday and feature Diamond Park in Butler, the county courthouse, the trailhead of the Washington Trail in Evans City and the Saxonburg Museum.

It also will include information on the county’s annual Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival as presented by Sara DiBello of the county Tourism and Convention Bureau.

Fred Caesar, a borough resident and volunteer with the Saxonburg Historical and Restoration Committee, also spoke in front of the show’s cameras about Saxonburg’s history.

“World’s Greatest” visits communities around the country and showcases the unique, compelling aspects that make those places great.

Here is where the show will be on: Armstrong customers — Channel 16; Time Warner customers — Channel 18; DirecTV customers — Channel 305; Dish Network customers — Channel 250; Comcast Xfinity customers — Channel 228; and over-the-air — Channel 273.

The show is not available for customers of Consolidated Communications.
