James Leroy Piper
James Leroy Piper, 62, of Slippery Rock passed away Feb. 14 at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.
He was born July 20, 1953, in New Castle, Pa., to John Leroy Piper and Kathryn Johnson Piper.
He had formerly worked at Slippery Rock University in the dietary department and later in the custodial department. He later worked for Service Master at the Slippery Rock School District. He also was self-employed, doing small engine repair.
He is survived by his daughter, Betty Lou Hefferan of Carnegie, Pa.; his son, Ronald Raymond Piper of Slippery Rock; two sisters, Karen Schlagel and her husband, Larry, of Eau Claire and Donna May Phipps and her husband, Ken, of Barkeyville; and his brother, David John Piper of Ohio.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Pauline Louise Snell and Linda Kay Piper.
