Drowning victim recovered from river in Foxburg
FOXBURG, Clarion County — Emergency responders this afternoon recovered a man’s body from the Allegheny River.
The man, approximately 26 years old, jumped off a bridge in Foxburg with another male the night before with the intent of swimming to shore.
The man didn’t make it to shore, and the Parker City Fire Department responded to a 911 emergency call at around 7:30 p.m. The effort continued today, and ended at about 1 p.m. when the body was recovered.
The recovery was a joint effort of several emergency responders from Butler, Armstrong and Clarion counties.
