Evelyn M. Rader

Evelyn M. Rader, 89, of Connoquenessing passed away Wednesday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler, surrounded by her loving family.

Born Sept. 30, 1926, in Evans City, she was the daughter of the late Clare and Ethel (Lenz) Gilliland.

Evelyn was a homemaker and worked beside her husband on the family farm. She was a 1944 graduate of Butler High School.

Evelyn was formerly a leader of the Connoquenessing AG 4-H Club and formerly served as a deacon for the White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church, where she was a lifelong member of the church. Evelyn also belonged to several card clubs in the area. In 1962, she and her husband, Clinton, were the recipients of the Butler Eagle Bowl award.

She enjoyed going to fairs, horse shows and traveling with her husband. Above all, she was extremely family oriented and loved having family dinners. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Harold (Barbara) Rader of Connoquenessing, Karen (Mike) Lyons of West Sunbury, Myrna (Tom) Robson of Connoquenessing and Debbie (Ron) Schettler of Connoquenessing; her grandchildren, Lona (Steve) Peters, Harold Rader Jr., Sharon (Jarod) Brown, John (Conley) Rader, Elaina (Eric) Eppinger, Tammy Simmons and her friend, Mike, Dale (Jennifer) Lyons, Jeff (Debra) Lyons, Mandy (Cole) Anderson, Angie Robson and her friend, Jim, Adam Schettler and Melissa Schettler and her fiance, Phil; 12 great-grandchildren; her brother, Edward (Beryl) Gilliland of Evans City; her sister, Kay Burr of Prospect; many nieces and nephews; and her dog, Millie.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Rader, who passed away Jan. 23, 2007.

RADER — The family of Evelyn M. Rader, who died Wednesday, March 16, 2016, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Boylan Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Connoquenessing Township, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.A funeral ceremony will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Lee Dreyer, pastor of the White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church, officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Butler County Memorial Park.Memorial donations may be made in Evelyn's honor to VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA 16001, or the White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church, 102 Shannon Road, Renfrew, PA 16053.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
