Curtis W. Harter

Curtis W. Harter, 89, of Connoquenessing went home to be with the Lord Saturday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice Unit in Butler.

Born Aug. 27, 1926, in Harmony, he was the son of the late Jesse C. and Harriett M. (Stewart) Harter.

Curt was a lifelong Methodist and a longtime faithful member of Connoquenessing United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday school.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Victory Lodge 694 F & AM.

He retired from ARMCO

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 66 years, Norma B. (Cress) Harter, who he married June 22, 1949; his son, Brian C. Harter and his wife, Cindy, of Cranberry Township; his three grandchildren, Angela M. Priddy and her husband, Alex, Megan Wollerton and her husband, Ryan, and Ethan J. Harter; two great-granddaughters, Brynlee Priddy and Emery Priddy; one sister, Ruby Robinson and her husband, Tom; and numerous nieces and nephews

In addition to his parents, Curtis was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey D. Harter.

HARTER — The family of Curtis W. Harter, who died Saturday, March 26, 2016, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER of Connoquenessing Township, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.A funeral ceremony will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at Connoquenessing United Methodist Church, 206 Main St., Connoquenessing, with the Rev. Bonnie Rupp-Fisher officiating. Everyone please meet at church.He will be laid to rest at Butler County Memorial Park.If desired, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Connoquenessing United Methodist Church, 206 Main St., Connoquenessing, PA 16027.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the Harter family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
