John E. Bungar

John E. Bungar, 75, of Transfer passed away Wednesday at UPMC Farrell following a brief illness.

He was born June 16, 1940, in Butler to Caroline Valunsky and John Bungar

John graduated in 1958 from Harrisville Area School, and he served in the U.S. Army.

He worked as a welder for 28 years at LTV in Camel, Ohio, retiring in 1986.

John was a member of Reynolds VFW Post 7599 and Greenville Moose Lodge 276. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and collecting antiques.

Surviving are his daughter, Tammy Lynn Currie (Dennis) of Hermitage; his son, John E. Bungar Jr. of Hermitage; his sister, Patricia West of New Castle; his half-brother, Edward Bungar (Jennifer) of Mercer; three grandchildren, Chad Currie, Andrew Bungar and Jasmine N. Currie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Ronald E. and William G. Bungar

BUNGAR — The family of John E. Bungar, who died Wednesday, April 6, 2016, will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. Saturday at John Flynn Funeral Home & Crematory, 2630 E. State St., Hermitage.The Rev. Andrew Gall, pastor of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Sharon, will officiate.Friends may sign the guest book at www.flynnfuneralhome.com.
