Waltman Furniture opens new store in Kittanning
CHICORA — The Waltman Furniture Co. has opened its second store.
The new 40,000-square-foot store at 13584 Route 422, Kittanning, carries top name brands such as Lane, Broyhill, Thomasville and Serta. It features a stand alone Mattress 1st bedding gallery.
A complete flooring department as well as interior design service and in-store financing are available.
The third-generation owned Waltman Furniture, founded in 1951, has grown to become the largest furniture store in Butler County with 50,000 square feet in Chicora.
Owner Ryan Waltman said the expansion has doubled the company’s employees from six to a dozen, with more hires expected.
He said the company had been waiting for the right time to expand for some time and saw a lot of potential in the vacant building, which formerly housed Furniture World East.
“The way that business works these days, we have to get bigger to survive,” Waltman said. “We kind of swooped in there and got a great deal and everything made sense” from a business perspective.
Grand opening sale promotions continue throughout May.
The Kittanning store hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
