Anna Mae Patterson

Anna Mae Patterson, 92, of Butler passed away Tuesday at her home.

She was born Dec. 28, 1923, in Butler to the late Orville Thompson and the late Elizabeth (Singleton) Thompson.

Mrs. Patterson was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She graduated from Butler High School and then went on to Allegheny College, where she received her bachelor's degree in sociology.

Mrs. Patterson taught French at Butler High School for a very brief time. She belonged to the Oak Hills Garden Club, AAUW and the Merry Mature Methodist of the First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Patterson enjoyed her flowers, gardening, reading and loved the Lord and her family.

She is survived by one daughter, Karen Wise of Butler; one son, Alan Patterson and his wife, Diane, of Pittsburgh.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard M. Patterson, who she married July 7, 1945, and who passed away April 23, 2009; her son-in-law, David V. Wise; and her sister, Betty Jane Colley.

PATTERSON — Friends of Anna Mae Patterson, who died Tuesday, April 12, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St., Butler with the Rev. Eric Park of the First United Methodist Church officiating.Burial will take place at the North Side Cemetery.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
