Ralph Henry Groves
Ralph Henry Groves, 83, a lifelong resident of Zelienople, passed away Wednesday in the comfort of his home.
Born Sept. 1, 1932, in Zelienople, he was the son of the late Alfred and Lillian (Brown) Groves.
Ralph proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was an excellent baseball player and pitched in the professional leagues for the Washington Senators. He worked for Halstead-Mitchell until its closing. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his two loving children, Lorraine Spargur and her husband, Ed, of Miami, Fla., and Ralph E. Groves of Philadelphia; and his brother, Floyd Groves of Callery.
In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Loretta N. (Nickita) Groves, who he married Dec. 31, 1956, and who passed away Aug. 6, 2011; his daughter, Linda Kobet; and his brothers, James, Abraham, Charles, Richard and Robert Groves.
GROVES — The family of Ralph Henry Groves, who died Wednesday, April 13, 2016, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E.
