May Jean Francis

May Jean Francis, 91, of Grove Manor for the past four years, formerly of Wesley, passed away Saturday at the Grove City Medical Center.

Jean was born Feb. 28, 1925, in Meridian. She was the daughter of David D. Hawk and Daisy M. Shakley Hawk.

Jean married George Francis on July 23, 1942, in Beaver, Pa. He died March 21, 1988.

Jean received her education from the Butler School District.

Jean was a devoted housewife and mother. She enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends. She kept busy by doing a variety of crafts and sewing. She also attended the Wesley United Methodist Church.

Jean is survived by her sons, Kenneth Francis of New Castle and Don Francis of Wesley; her daughter, Linda S. Hanna and her husband, Tim, of Kennerdell; her grandchildren, Patrick Hanna and his wife, Jennifer, of Harrisville, Amanda Goodrick of Kennerdell, Shawn Hanna and his wife, Laurie, of Kennerdell and Michael Hanna and his wife, Erin, of Brookville; and granddaughters, Lisa and April; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Roberta Hamilton, who died in 1995; two brothers, David and Raymond Hawk; three sisters, Grace Schmidt, Dorothy Hawk and Mildred Pfeil; one granddaughter; and one grandson.

FRANCIS — The family of May Jean Francis, who died Saturday, April 30, 2016, will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton St., Clintonville.The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev.
