Margaret Ann “Peg” Graber

Margaret Ann “Peg” Graber, 83, of Slippery Rock passed away Thursday at her home, following an eight-month illness.

She was born April 7, 1933, in Bellevue, Allegheny County, to William Cunningham and Cecyl Brewster Cunningham.

She married Elmer “Al” Christian Graber March 30, 1953.

Peg recently retired as a senior tax preparer for H & R Block, where she worked for more than 30 years.

She was a member of Highland Presbyterian in Slippery Rock for more than 35 years. She was a past worthy matron and 50-year member of the Jepthah Chapter Order of Eastern Star, Glenshaw, and was the past queen of the Daughters of the Nile, Cheswick.

Her enjoyment in life revolved around spending time with family, friends and those clients she served as she prepared their tax returns.

She is survived by her husband, Al, at home in Slippery Rock; two sons, David Graber (Lillian) of Latrobe, and Ken Graber (Jan) of Fairfax, Va.; two daughters, Janet Powell (Fred) and Carol Cratty, all of Slippery Rock; 11 grandchildren, Ryan Graber (Gillian), Jason Graber, Christopher Graber (Ashley), Derek Powell, Justin Powell (Harzmi), Liam Powell (Brittany), Shalyn Terdle (Ryan), Michael Strathen (Mariah), Kelly Strathen, Eric Cratty and Scott Cratty; and six great-grandchildren, Aidan Graber, Lilly Graber, Raven Holman, Luca Powell, Yuto Powell and Oliver Powell.

GRABER — Memorial services for Margaret Ann “Peg” Graber, who died Thursday, May 12, 2016, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Highland Presbyterian Church, 310 Franklin, St., Slippery Rock, with the Rev. Douglas Turner presiding.Memorial contributions may be given to Highland Presbyterian Church.The Smith Funeral Home, Slippery Rock, is assisting with the arrangements.
