Lawsuits claim sisters abused by same Pa. priest as children
ALTOONA — Two sisters have sued a Catholic priest, his central Pennsylvania diocese and two former bishops who supervised him, saying the cleric molested them repeatedly as girls — including one at her First Communion party.
The Altoona-Johnstown diocese did not immediately respond to a request for comment, or on behalf of former Bishops Joseph Adamec and the late James Hogan, who was bishop when the Rev. Charles Bodziak allegedly molested the girls, who are now 47 and 49.
One plaintiff alleges she was abused repeatedly from second grade through sixth grade while Bodziak was her parish priest. The other alleged abuse from age 8 to 14.
