Ervin Albert Higgs
Ervin Albert Higgs, 80, of Key West, Fla., passed away May 3.
Born April 30, 1936, Mr. Higgs was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was an employee of Peoples Natural Gas during the 1960s.
In 1976, Mr. Higgs was elected as the property appraiser for Monroe County, which services the Florida Keys. He served for 35 years, after being elected eight times.
Mr. Higgs won the Outstanding Assessment Administration Award for the state of Florida. He was also a 33 degree Mason and a Paul Harris fellow.
