Frank Dale Sherman
Frank Dale Sherman, 97, of Butler passed away at 2 a.m. Wednesday at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Aug. 11, 1918, in Butler, to the late Charles Arthur Sherman and Mary E. (Post) Sherman.
Frank worked as a tool and die maker for Oberg Industries, retiring in 1984. He was a member of St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church. Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II.
He was a former member of American Legion Post 117 of Butler and a member of the Tanglewood Center. He enjoyed gardening, walking, bicycling and playing cards, especially 500 bridge.
He is survived by one son, Kent O. Sherman and his wife, Claire, of Renfrew; one daughter, Rhonda J. Riskosky and her husband, Alexander, of Butler; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne R. Sherman, whom he married Dec. 31, 1948, and who passed away Oct. 9, 2015; and one sister and seven brothers.
SHERMAN — According to the wishes of Frank Dale Sherman, who died Wednesday, June 1, 2016, there will be no public visitation.Private burial took place at Summit Presbyterian Cemetery with the Rev.
