Genevieve J. (Matuszewicz) Ratay
Genevieve J. (Matuszewicz) Ratay, 93, of Valencia passed away Wednesday.
Born Jan. 2, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Kwaitkowski) Matuszewicz.
She was the beloved wife for 54 years of the late Henry M. Ratay; the beloved sister of Joseph Matuszewicz and the late Gertrude Goetz and Clara Davis; and the proud mother of Barbara J. Van Ruiten, JoAnn Rothwell, Henry M. Ratay Jr., Carolyn Kleinfelder and the late Jacquelyn Ratay.
Genevieve claims 11 grandchildren, Lynn Michelle Lewis, Matthew Van Ruiten, Kim Weimer, Frank Pollock, Angela Tipton, Wendy Birchtold, Christy Gilson, Jaime Hegedus, Jessica Hoffman, Corey Kleinfelder and Christopher Ratay; and many great-grandchildren round out the family of Genevieve.
“Jenny,” as she was called by friends, was a long-standing member of the Holy Sepulcher Church in Glade Mills and a member of the Widow and Widowers group for many years.
RATAY — The family of Genevieve J. (Matuszewicz) Ratay, who died Wednesday, July 6, 2016, will welcome friends from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at Schellhaas Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown.Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Holy Sepulcher Church with interment to follow at St. Wendelin Cemetery, Whitehall.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Holy Sepulcher Church, 1304 E.
