Doris M. Sweeney

Doris M. Sweeney, 89, of Saxonburg passed away Friday at the Saxony Health Center.

Born Dec. 18, 1926, in Butler, she was the daughter of George L. and Louise C. Tiha Cornibe.

Doris had worked as an operator for Bell Telephone and also had worked as a billing secretary for T.W. Phillips.

She was a member of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church in Butler. She had been active in the Butler Junior Women's Club in her younger years. She loved flower gardening, knitting, playing bridge, dancing and baby-sitting.

Surviving are her daughters, Jeanne (Stanley) Graff of Saxonburg, Connie (Wesley) Channing of Jacksonville, Fla., and JoAnne (William) Ripple of Kentwood, Mich.; her brother, Howard Cornibe of Lady Lake, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Steven Graff, Natalie Brown, Melinda Channing, William Ripple, Lydia Edinger and Alysa and Rachel Cooper; and seven great-grandchildren, Emily and Gavin Graff, Myles and Harrison Brown, Libby and James Edinger and Findley Cooper-Nelson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Gerald Forcht, in 1973; her second husband, Raymond Sweeney, in 1987; her daughter, Susan M. Cooper; her granddaughter, Michelle Channing; and her sister, Marian Wallon.

SWEENEY — There will be no visitation or services for Doris M. Sweeney, who died Friday, July 15, 2016.
