SRHS football celebrates 50thThe Slippery Rock High football program will celebrate its 50th season with several events throughout the season.It kicks off Aug. 26 during a home game against Reynolds as the program will welcome back alumni from the teams that played between 1967 and 1986.For the Sept. 9 home game against Hickory, alumni from the 1987-1996 teams will be recognized.For the Sept. 16 home game against Mercer, alumni from the 1997-2006 team will be welcomed back as well as the traditional veterans appreciation night.Finally, on Oct. 14, alumni from the 2007-2016 team will be honored during the game against Sharpsville.

Dolphin players join guitar smashMIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Three Miami Dolphins and nearly two dozen other VIPs simultaneously smashed guitars in the end zone to christen Hard Rock Stadium as the new name for the team’s home.Wide receiver Jarvis Landry, defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, safety Reshad Jones and rapper Pitbull were involved in the ceremonial smashing.
