Sarah Elyce Archer
Sarah Elyce Archer, 27, of Butler passed away Tuesday at her home.
She was born Jan. 22, 1989, in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., the daughter of Scott Archer and Shanda (Scott) Renick, both of Butler.
Sarah participated in many activities growing up, including cheering, dance and soccer. She was a wonderful singer, with her signature song, “Don't Stop Believing” by Journey. She loved spending time with her little sister and cousins. She had a dazzling personality and was loved by so many people. She was sweet, caring and always had everyone laughing.
Sadly, none of that kept her from struggling with heroin addiction. Sarah was a smart young woman who could have achieved so much greatness had it not been for her never ending battle with addiction. She had tried and completed various treatment programs, sometimes maintaining sobriety for over a year. Unfortunately, even with the support of her family, no one was able to save her from the clutches of her addiction.
Sarah wanted a future free of this disease, which she was ultimately unable to achieve. If one person hears Sarah's story and is saved from heroin, her family will have succeeded in accomplishing one of her goals.
Surviving are her parents; her sister, Alexis Huselton of Butler; her brother, Zacharri Renick of Butler; her grandmother, Judy Scott of Butler; her grandfather, Ronnie L. Scott of Butler; her uncles and aunts, Kristopher (Beth) Rhodaberger and their children, Audrina and Olivia of Butler and Sean (Heather) Archer and their children, Seth, Carter and Sophia, of Butler; and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her special grandfather, Kenneth Rhodaberger; great grandmother, Alma Anderson; and grandparents, Jack and Delores “Cookie” Archer.
