BUTLER CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68, will have special music Sunday by Pastor Millie Martsolf.

Christ Community UNITED METHODIST

Flood bucket donations for Louisiana will be received at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road.

The church picnic will be at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the Meridian Vets Club Park, 125 Vets Club Road. Set up will be at 9:30 a.m. Take a favorite game and lawn chair. Names starting with A to P should take a dish to share and Q to Z should take a dessert to share. Meat and beverages will be provided.

CHRIST'S OUTREACH

Christ’s Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave., will have the Rev. Fred Kison as the speaker at the Sunday morning worship.

A pickup game of basketball will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Enter at the ramp door of the gym.

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

The monthly cleaning day at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday.

The noisy offering of loose change will be received during the Sunday worship service.

FIRST BAPTIST

The Berean Class of First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will have a corn roast Saturday at Earl Sarvey’s home.

Sunday’s service schedule will include Sunday school classes, a morning worship service and a 6 p.m. worship service.

FIRST BAPTIST OF EVANS CITY

First Baptist Church of Evans City, 242 S. Washington St., Evans City, will not have services Sunday at the church campus.

The church will host its annual Celebration Sunday service at Slippery Rock Baptist Camp. Normal services will resume the following week.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., will have a worship service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

Church members will gather at noon Sunday at Camp Lutherlyn for a picnic that will begin at 12:30 p.m. Take a favorite food to share. Filled piggy banks will be collected and the donations will be given to the ELCA’s World Hunger Appeal.

GRACE@CALVARY LUTHERAN

Grace’s Closet, a free clothing bank, will be open at Grace @ Calvary, 123 E. Diamond St., from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. To donate back-to-school clothing, call the church from 9 a.m. to noon Monday to Friday to arrange a drop-off time.

“In The News” Bible study will be at 9 a.m. Sunday in the rear of the sanctuary.

Sunday worship will be on the lower lawn. Take chairs. School backpacks will be blessed.

The potluck church picnic will be after worship in the social hall and outside. Take a dish to share. There will be games for young people.

GRACEWAY

GraceWay meets at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

The Tom Walker Family and Tabitha Snyder will provide special music during the Sunday worship service.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St., will have a Worship Without Walls service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at the Masonic Shelter in Alameda Park, 184 Alameda Park Road. A handbell duet and vocal soloist will be the special music.

The church’s annual picnic will follow worship. Hot dogs, beverages and desserts will be provided. Take a side dish or salad to serve 10 people.

Fall program brochures are available and include information about “Wednesdays on the Hill.” The fall session will start Sept. 7. Contact the church for more information or a brochure.

MOUNT CHESTNUT PRESBYTERIAN

Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church, 727 Old West 422, will have guest speaker Tom McMeekin.

The food cupboard will be offered at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The open house for Mount Chestnut Christian Preschool will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday. The open house is for enrolled students and their parents.

OLD UNION PRESBYTERIAN

Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, will have a “worship as you work” service Sept. 4 in honor of Labor Day. Attend in work or school clothes to celebrate the gift of labor.

Sunday school will begin at 9:45 a.m. Sept. 11.

SAINT ANDREWS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., will have the Blessing of the Backpacks during Sunday worship.

The Tenth Annual Community Day of Prayer will be Sept. 10. The sanctuary will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for anyone who wishes to stop in and pray. To agree to pray for 30 minutes in the sanctuary, sign up in the narthex or contact Susan Moon.

ST. MARK'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN

St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., will begin its sausage sale to benefit Katie’s Kitchen, today. The deadline for orders is Sept. 8.

The annual picnic will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Alameda Park Masonic Shelter, 184 Alameda Park Road. The picnic will conclude with worship at 6 p.m. at the park.

There will not be Children’s Church Sunday.

The sanctuary choir will begin weekly rehearsals at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

ST. PAUL ROMAN CATHOLIC

St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., will celebrate a Mass in Spanish at 2 p.m. Sunday.

VALENCIA PRESBYTERIAN

Valencia Presbyterian Church, 80 Sterrett St., Valencia, will have an old-fashioned hymn sing during the Sunday worship service.

A youth group planning meeting will be at 11 a.m. Sunday in the lounge.

ZION LUTHERAN

Zion Lutheran Church, 266 Zion Church Road, Chicora, will have a church council meeting at 9 a.m. Sunday followed by a worship service and adult Bible study.
