Betty M. Hilliard

Betty M. Hilliard, 97, of Butler, formerly of Connoquenessing, passed away at 11:47 a.m. Wednesday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

She was born April 1, 1919, in Butler, to the late Robert H. Greenawalt and Margaret (Pontius) Greenawalt.

Mrs. Hilliard enjoyed reading, scrapbooking, golf and being a Pirates fan, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren and family. She was a member of the Connoquenessing Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sons, William J. Hilliard and his wife, Cathy, of Grandy, N.C., and Robert Hilliard and his wife, Mary Ann, of Renfrew; one daughter, Dawna Kay Faull of Butler; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William C. “Bill” Hilliard, who she married April 17, 1939, and who died Jan. 9, 2013; one son, Larry Hilliard; one son-in-law, William Faull; three brothers; and three sisters.

HILLIARD — Friends of Betty M. Hilliard, who died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Connoquenessing United Methodist Church, 206 Main St., Connoquenessing, with the Rev. Connie Dunn, LSL, VNA, hospice chaplain, officiating.Burial will take place at the Butler County Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA 16001, or to the Connoquenessing Methodist Church, 206 Main St., Connoquenessing, PA 16027.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
