Lawrence M. Grossman
Lawrence M. Grossman, 89, of Butler passed away at 4:30 p.m. Friday at the emergency room at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 22, 1927, in New Castle to the late Irvin Grossman and Gertrude (Robins) Grossman.
Larry was a member of the Congregation B'nai Abraham Synagogue.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II.
He attended Butler High School and then transferred to Riverside Military in Gainesville, Ga., where he graduated. Later, Larry attended the University of Pittsburgh for two years.
He and his brother were owners of the Robins Furniture Co. in Butler.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Grossman, who he married Aug. 20, 1950; one daughter, Helene Goldstein and her husband, Howard, of Venetia, Pa.; his son-in-law, William Mattock of Shaler, Pa.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Herbert L. Grossman and his wife, Sara, of Butler; two nieces; and one nephew.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Ilene Mattock.
