Hunter injured after falling from tree stand
CRANBERRY TWP — A hunter was injured this morning after falling out of a tree stand.
The unidentified female hunter, said to be in her mid-20s, fell about 20 feet to the ground in a wooded area behind Rose Drive, police said.
“We don’t have a lot of hunting injuries here,” said Sgt. Chuck Mascellino of the Cranberry Police Department. “But they are common this time of year.”
A Stokes basket provided by the township volunteer fire department had to be used to transport the hunter to a Quality EMS ambulance.
She was then taken to Allegheny General Hospital to be treated for injuries.
Mascellino said her injuries were not life-threatening.
