Turnpike accepts credit cardsHARRISBURG — The Pennsylvania Turnpike now takes plastic.The turnpike is now accepting credit cards at toll booths across the state.Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission spokesman Carl DeFebo says toll collectors began receiving card readers last month.DeFebo says cash and E-ZPass are still the preferred methods of payment, but with fewer people today carrying cash, this gives drivers another option.He says drivers can go through one of the cash lanes to use their credit card.

Samsung recalls replacementsSEOUL, South Korea — Samsung Electronics said Thursday it has expanded its recall of Galaxy Note 7 smartphones in the U.S. to include all replacement devices the company offered as a presumed safe alternative after the original Note 7s were found prone to catch fire.The move announced on the websites of Samsung and the Consumer Product Safety Commission today came after Samsung announced earlier this week that it was discontinuing the product following reports that the replacements also were overheating.
