Vada May Arnold

Vada May Arnold, 92, of East Lake Road, South Shenango Township, Jamestown, passed away Saturday evening at her home.

She was born May 5, 1924, in Baker's Run, W.Va., the daughter of Casper and Rosa Sonifrank Smith. She married George Butcherine Sr. in 1944; he passed away in 1969. Then in 1987, she married Jesse Arnold Sr., who had six children, Jesse Jr., Billy, Dennis, Rita, Becky and Peggy. Jesse passed away in 2001.

Vada was a cook at Slippery Rock University and a Sunday school teacher for many years and an avid traveler. She was a member of State Line United Methodist Church, where she belonged to the In Full Bloom Ladies Fellowship and loved being a greeter.

Vada is survived by two daughters, Joyce Aiello and her husband, Roger, of New Wilmington, Pa., and Linda Waite and her husband, Allen, of Jamestown, Pa.; her son, George Butcherine Jr. and his wife, Karen, of Slippery Rock, Pa.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, six brothers and seven sisters.

ARNOLD — Friends of Vada May Arnold, who died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Loutzenhiser-Randall Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 416 Liberty St., Jamestown.Friends may also call from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at State Line United Methodist Church, 263 W. State Road, Jamestown, Pa.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. John Hodge, pastor of the church, officiating.
