Butler Police8 a.m. Monday — Edge Wyatt Kerry, 23, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, Kaitlin Selfridge, during a domestic dispute at his home on Rattigan Street.Selfridge told police that Kerry threw her cell phone at her, punched her in the back, tossed her to the floor and kicked her in the back, according to court documents.She suffered a lump and small cut on her head and complained of head and back pain.Kerry was arraigned on a charge of simple assault, and later released on his own recognizance.9:12 p.m. Friday — A pickup truck driven by Lee A. Link, 22, of Summit Township and a car driven by Mark D. Sarver, 49, of Butler collided at North Monroe and East Locust streets.Thursday — Police charged Spencer D. Geibel, 34, of Butler Township with fraudulently cashing a stolen check in May at a city bank.Police allege that as part of the fraud Geibel got another man to cash the check, which belonged to a Garfield Avenue woman. The check was one of several taken from the woman’s car at her home.The check was cashed for $280. The man who cashed it for Geibel apparently was unaware of the fraud and police said they consider him a victim.Geibel owed the man money when he asked him to cash the check, according to court documents.Geibel is charged with forgery and theft by deception.Oct. 5 — Robert C.J. Best, 29, no known address, was arraigned on charges he eluded police Oct. 1 following a foot chase in and around the 500 block of Hansen Avenue.The chase began about 11:15 a.m., according to court documents, when officers tried to arrest him on a bench warrant.Best ran between two buildings before police eventually saw him dash across Randolph Street. The city’s K-9 officer assisted in the pursuit that ended without the suspect’s capture. He was last seen running behind a church near Evergreen Street.Best is charged with flight to avoid apprehension or prosecution.
Butler Twp PoliceTuesday — Racheal M. Downing, 32, of Freedom, Beaver County, was charged with illegally trying to buy a gun Dec. 2, 2015, at the Butler Commons Walmart.When her information was entered into the Pennsylvania Instant Check System, an automated system by which gun dealers can determine if someone can legally buy a gun in the state, she was denied the purchase.Downing is charged with unlawfully attempting to buy a firearm, a felony, and making a false statement to authorities, a misdemeanor.Tuesday — Police charged Tabitha L. Beam, 45, of West Sunbury with drunken driving stemming from a two-vehicle crash about 7:55 p.m. Oct. 5 at Belmont Road and North Main Street. In addition to driving under the influence, Beam is charged with careless driving.Monday — An unknown thief overnight stole Halloween decorations outside a home on Crosslands Road. Taken was a 2-foot plastic pumpkin and a 3-foot wooden scarecrow. The decorations are valued at $50.Monday — Stacy L. McMillion, 26, of Pittsburgh and Jenna A. Orkwis, 36, of Natrona Heights, Allegheny County, both were charged in connection with an altercation last week at the Sheetz convenience store on Route 68.Police said they were called just before 3 p.m. Oct. 17 for a fight at the gas pumps and found McMillion and Orkwis had been involved in a loud and profane argument. Both women are charged with disorderly conduct.
Slippery Rock University Police11:43 p.m. Saturday — Stephon T. Cooper, 23, of Pittsburgh was arrested after he was caught with suspected marijuana and drug contraband while at a dance at the Smith Center on the Slippery Rock University campus.Police said a Butler County Sheriff’s deputy, at the event for security, used a metal detecting wand on Cooper and found him carrying suspected marijuana and a marijuana grinder, according to court documents.Later, while speaking to police, he gave them another’s man’s driver’s license and claimed it was him.He was taken to the campus police station where he eventually gave his real name to officers.Cooper is charged with identity theft, false identification to law enforcement authorities, and possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Grove City Police5:40 a.m. Tuesday — A truck driven by Colin Banco, 25, of Mercer struck a car at Kinder Avenue and West Main Street. Tyler Ross, 19, of Clintonville, Venango County, was the other driver. His car had to be towed.
State Police, ButlerMonday — An arrest warrant was issued for Derek Deshawn Walker, 27, of Slippery Rock on charges he broke into the Campus Side Apartments clubhouse in Slippery Rock Township earlier this month.Police allege Walker entered the clubhouse in the evening, possibly by fraudulently using a resident’s identification reader scan card, and stole two packages belonging to residents at the apartment complex.The suspect was captured on surveillance video at the clubhouse committing the crime, according to court documents. Walker is charged with burglary, trespass and theft.1 a.m. Sunday — Amanda J. Hazuda, 22, of Mercer was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after she struck a car parked at the Pine Glen Apartments in Slippery Rock Township.9:22 p.m. Friday — Steven A. Dorenkamp, 35, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, Cindy L. Williams, during a domestic dispute at their home on McGinley Road in Oakland Township.Williams told police that Dorenkamp grabbed her phone and hit her in the face with it, according to court documents. The defendant was later arrested and placed in handcuffs.But when police tried to put him in the cruiser, he struggled with a trooper, documents said.Dorenkamp was arraigned on charges of simple assault, resisting arrest, harassment and disorderly conduct. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $25,000 bail following arraignment.
State Police, KittanningThursday — An unknown burglar stole a pistol, cell phone, cigarettes and a small amount of money from a home in Cirrincione Lane in Manor Township. The suspect got in through an unlocked door.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-543-2011.
State Police, Mercer2 a.m. Sunday — Gregory M. Bond, 56, of Stoneboro allegedly threatened to assault a Barkeyville man tending bar at the OK Corral on Railroad Street in Stoneboro.Bond apparently became upset when Randolph L. Kienig, 54, refused to serve him any more alcohol because of his intoxicated condition.The disc jockey, Brandon M. Arrowood, 29, of Sandy Lake, stepped in and asked the suspect to leave. When Bond refused, Arrowood escorted him outside.Bond is accused of threatening to kill Arrowood. No injuries were reported.Bond is charged with defiant trespass and two counts of harassment.
