Carole Siford
Carole Siford of North Buffalo Township accepted an invitation to walk with Jesus on Sunday.
Carole was born Roman Catholic, Sept. 15, 1940, in Pittsburgh, to Louis Parous and Margaret Sedon Parous.
She worked as a secretary and as a restaurant and hotel manager before retiring in 2005.
Carole and Thomas E. Peretik were blessed with five children and six grandchildren, Kimberly A. Jabat (Jay and Brett Jabat) of Fairless Hills, Pa.; Dana M. and Dave Hayman of Sarasota, Fla.; Troylene “Toni” Weimer (Derek Weimer) of Kittanning; Thomas K. and Patty Peretik (Alex, Stephen and Christine Peretik) of Fort Mill, S.C.; and Justina J. “Jay” and Paul Wright of Kittanning.
She also has one brother, Louis “Bucky” Parous of Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her spouses, Thomas E. Peretik, Howard Siford and John O. “Woody” Woodhall; and her parents.
“Grandma Loopy” spent her later years scratching bingo and crossword lottery tickets, reading the local newspaper and solving puzzles. She also enjoyed watching “The Young and the Restless” soap opera. In her younger days, she traveled the country and peddled at local flea markets.
Carole had a great sense of humor and was quick- witted. She found pleasure in her weekly poker game with Joseph “Jo Jo” Beer Jr. and going to camp with family and friends in Tionesta. She was one of the “older” members of the Slovak CU Club in Ford City.
Lovingly referred to by many as “Momma,” she struggled with a cruel cancer diagnosis with bold courage.
Special thanks to Dr. Melissa M. Cyr, D.O.; Dr. Hung-Chi Ho, M.D.; and the Northwest UPMC and Fair Winds Manor, and all the staff.
