2 vehicles crash on Main Street

A two-vehicle accident that happened around 6 p.m. Tuesday resulted in injuries.

Anita Platt, of Butler said she was operating a Dodge Caravan, stopped in traffic near 222 S. Main St., when she was rear-ended by a Chevrolet Cruze.

Mike Emerick, of South Butler was driving the Cruze and said he turned around to tell his daughter to sit down, as she was trying to climb out of her car seat, when he rear-ended the Caravan.

Denise Platt, of Butler was a passenger in the Caravan and suffered a neck injury. She was transported by Butler Ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital.

Anita Platt said her neck and back were sore following the accident, but did not immediately go to the hospital.

The Caravan suffered minor rear-end damage.

Neither Emerick nor the Cruze's three passengers suffered any injuries. The Cruze did not sustain any damage.

In addition to Butler Ambulance, the Butler police and fire departments responded. West Diamond Street was blocked off for about 15 minutes following the accident.
