Eric Richard Montgomery

Eric Richard Montgomery, 64, of Butler passed away Tuesday at Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia following a short battle with cancer.

He was born July 18, 1952, in Georgetown, Ohio, to the late Stanley L. Montgomery and the late Gertrude Irene Eyestone Eyth.

Eric was a member of First United Methodist Church, Crossfire Campus.

He worked in the construction industry for Standard Insulating and most recently as a cabler for DBS Telecom. Eric was meticulous about his work.

He enjoyed ice skating and bowling in his younger years. Eric was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. He also enjoyed acoustic guitar and spending time with his pets. Eric was a devoted grandfather to Braiden Neff.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra, who he married at 11 a.m. Nov. 11, 2011; one stepdaughter, Ashley J. Laderer of Ellwood City; one grandson, Braiden C. Neff; one brother, Michael L. Montgomery of Slippery Rock; two sisters, Deborah A. Grolemund of Butler and Jennifer Carrabba; one niece, Heather Runtas; and two nephews, Sean Montgomery and Joshua Grolemund.

Noting that Eric died Tuesday, we bid him farewell by saying, “10-4.”
