Friend of the land

Dave Lamperski, who owned and operated a greenhouse business in Forward Township, will be missed.

Dave was a tremendous volunteer who also served as a Forward Township supervisor. He was very active in the Butler County Elected Officials Association.

Dave’s true passion was working to provide stewardship on the land. He worked to prevent water pollution as a founder of the Connoquenessing Watershed Association. He applied for grants and participated in numerous stream improvement projects for several decades.

Dave provided valuable leadership, working as a board member for the Butler County Conservation District. He served as chairman and vice chairman.

Dave was a member of the board of directors for over 30 years.

The Conservation District has been successful receiving numerous grants through the Pennsylvania Growing Greener Program. The funds were often used to install best management practices on Butler County farms. The Conservation District worked to install stream bank improvement projects and acid mine abatement projects. Thousands of tree seedlings were planted.

He provided leadership for the annual Farm Tour since it started. Dave supported the Agricultural Preservation Program to preserve farms for future generations.

Dave served for many years on the Quality Assurance Board to improve dirt and gravel roads. He also served on the Butler County Environmental Advisory Board which funded hundreds of environmental projects through the Landfill Closure Fund.

He worked to make Butler County a more attractive and clean place to live. He worked to protect our valuable natural resources. His volunteer efforts will never be forgotten.
