Frances S. Sigmund

Frances S. Sigmund, 76, of Prospect, passed away of natural causes Friday evening at home.

Born Aug. 29, 1940, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Josephine Witizanski Simon.

Frances was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Prospect, where she enjoyed her many friendships.

She had previously worked for Bizzy Bee in Wexford, and also worked as a cleaning lady at local motels.

Alongside of her husband, they raised cows, pigs, chickens and horses. She enjoyed riding motorcycles and traveling with her husband. She enjoyed gardening and the outdoors. Frances would be seen going outside just to enjoy the views from her back porch.

She is survived by her loving and caring husband, John “Jack” Sigmund. She also is survived by her children, Kimberly McCombs of Shadyside, Christopher Sigmund of Erie, and John (Kathy) Sigmund of Cranberry Township; five grandchildren, Shane McCombs, Jordan Sigmund, Ethan Sigmund, Charles Sigmund and Emily Sigmund; three great-grandchildren and one sister, Betty (John) Patsey of Penn Hills.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bob Simon.

SIGMUND — Visitation for Frances S. Sigmund, who passed away Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main St., Prospect.

Visitation also will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Presbyterian Church of Prospect.

A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Steve Cort, her church pastor, officiating.

Interment will be in Pinewood Memorial Park, Cranberry Township.
