Four vehicle accident

BUTLER TWP — A four-vehicle accident left a pickup truck on its side around 3 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Greenwood Drive and Benbrook Road.

Ryan Fassinger, 18, of Harmony driving a red Chevrolet Colorado when he was stopped at a stop sign on Greenwood Drive heading west.

He ventured into traffic and collided with the Buick Enclave of Daniel Bunger, 71, of Harmony who had the right of way.

“When we stopped there's a blind spot, and I didn't see him, and when we saw him it was too late and we got hit,” Fassinger said.

The Colorado was hit on its back right side and hit head on the blue Chevrolet Colorado of Jim Fleeger, 65, of Center Township.

Fleeger was stopped at the stop sign on Greenwood Drive heading east.

“I was sitting here at the stop sign and the next thing I know, pow,” Fleeger said.

The collision caused the blue pickup truck to go backward, hitting the blue Chevrolet Cruze that was stopped behind it, causing a minor dent to the front end of the car.

The woman driving the Cruze was not injured, nor was Fleeger, Fassinger, Fassinger's 17-year-old passenger, Bunger, nor his passenger, 64-year-old Kim Bunger, of Harmony.

The red Colorado ended up on its left side in the middle of Greenwood Drive. The blue Colorado and Enclave sustained severe front-end damage, while the Enclave 's airbags deployed and its windshield cracked.

Both Colorados and the Enclave were towed.

Butler Township Fire Department, Butler Township Police Department, South Butler Fire Department and Butler Ambulance Service were on the scene.

Greenwood Drive and Benbrook Road were limited to one way for about an hour while debris was cleared from the roads and emergency responders waited for the vehicles to be towed.
