James C. Smith

James C. Smith, 77, of Cabot passed away Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born May 20, 1939, in Slate Lick, he was the son of the late James Smith and Jessie Smith.

Jim was a graduate of Worthington High School. He worked as an operator for Local 66 Operating Engineers. He enjoyed gardening and fishing.

Surviving are his loving wife, Shirley M. Watson Smith, whom he married Sept. 28, 1968; his children, Tad Smith and his wife, Judy, of New Kensington, Don Smith of Kittanning, and Joni Smith of Corpus Christi, Texas; his stepchildren, Sean Darling of Mexico and Seth Riley of Clark, Pa.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Wyant of Georgia.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James Smith; and his brothers, Roy and Robert Smith.

SMITH — Friends of James C. Smith, who died Monday, Oct. 10, 2016, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Fox Funeral Home, 410 W.
