Thanks for the escort

Slippery Rock 175th Anniversary Committee wishes to thank members of Slippery Rock High School Marching Band and their parents, brothers from Sigma Tau Gamma, Santa’s Elf, Santa and many community members for their help and participation in our Light Up Night on Saturday, Nov. 12.

Many children, parents and community members of all ages watched the band escort Santa through town and into the former First National Bank building, where 12 decorated trees awaited judging.

The three prize winning trees were decorated by Slippery Rock Heritage (first place); FNBSR Coffee Klatchers (second place); and SRU Rock Productions (third place).

Trees will be on display throughout the borough during the holiday season.

This is the culminating activity in celebration of Slippery Rock Borough’s 175th Anniversary and reminded many children and adults why we love this community.

Thank you all!
