Elaine Kisiel

Elaine Kisiel, 78, a lifelong resident of Butler, passed away Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

She leaves her husband of 51 years, Joseph Kisiel of Butler; her sister, Sister Karen Krebs of Pittsburgh; her sons, James Kisiel of Los Angeles, William Kisiel and his wife, Jacquie, of Rehoboth Beach, Del., and Joseph Kisiel and his wife, Jeanne, of Erie; her grandsons, Andrew and Nathan; her granddaughter, Emma of Erie; and many close friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Krebs of Naples, Fla.; and Marilyn Carnahan of Butler.

Born in 1938 and raised in Butler, Elaine is the daughter of Edward and Iva Easley Krebs. She attended St. Francis School of Nursing in Pittsburgh and became a registered nurse. She worked at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Butler for more than 20 years.

Elaine had a passion for the Penguins, Steelers and Pirates. One could find her reading her favorite book, finishing a crossword puzzle, playing pinochle and visiting the beaches of the Outer Banks, N.C.

KISIEL — Friends of Elaine Kisiel, who died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, will be received from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St., Butler. A memorial Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at the church.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Elaine's honor to the Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities, 146 Hawthorne Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15209.Arrangements are being handled by the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E.
