Bernie Paga contends (“Liberalism in action,” Nov. 15) that “We get eight lousy years of Obama and I don’t recall one protest or riot that the conservative people in this country participated in.”

Some reminders are necessary.

August 2009: Tea partiers attempt to disrupt each informational meeting about the Affordable Care Act. Hospitalizations of innocent meeting attendees result.

April 2014: Cliven Bundy, a deadbeat cattleman, gathers paramilitary supporters in an effort to disobey lawful efforts to collect modest grazing fees, and armed supporters aim rifles at government agents during the protests.

July 2014: anti-Hispanic protesters block road to prevent ICE buses from taking immigrants to processing centers, and mistake buses carrying school children for their intended targets, giving those children an education in shameful behavior.

February 2016: Another group of Bundyites instigates an armed takeover of a wildlife refuge, and the stupidity of one of the supporters results in his death during an armed confrontation with federal agents.

My conservative fellow citizens, you have a choice between hypocrisy and a realization that sanity’s best definition is “an unswerving dedication to reality at all costs.”
