Betty P. Riggle

Betty P. Riggle, 91, of Buffalo Township went to be with her Lord on Sunday.

Betty was born May 1, 1925, in Mayport, Pa. She was the daughter of the late Hazel Wolfgang and Ferman H. Crissman. She is the widow of Richard E. “Dick” Riggle, who passed in 2003.

Betty graduated from Vandergrift High School and received her registered nursing degree from Citizens General Hospital's School of Nursing.

Betty was an active member of the Buffalo Presbyterian Church in Sarver. Betty was a member of the Herbal Thyme's Club in Sarver and always enjoyed working in her flower and herb gardens. She also enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing, camping, needle point, crocheting and knitting.

She is survived by her son, R. Marc (Lois) Riggle of South Buffalo Township; two granddaughters, Vicki (Brad) Doverspike of Kittanning and Rhonda (Bill) Summers-Lawrence of Springdale, Pa.; three grandsons, Jason (Tracy) Riggle of Ephrata, Pa., Joshua (Sarah) Riggle of Johnstown and Jeremy (Carly) Riggle of Buffalo Township; and two sisters, Mary (Vincent) Condeni of Cincinnati and Jean (Ken) Blose of Vandergrift.

Betty also is survived by 10 great-grandchildren, Tristan and Holli Doverspike, Billy and Matthew Lawrence, Alyson, Owen and Riley Riggle, Aiden and Alexa Riggle and Kolbi Riggle.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, B. Lynn Summers; and her granddaughter, Kelly Riggle

RIGGLE — Family and friends of Betty P. Riggle, who died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Redmond Funeral Home, 524 High St., Freeport.There will be an additional visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jean Smith officiating. Burial will be at the Greenwood Memorial Park in New Kensington.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Buffalo Presbyterian Church, 678 Sarver Road, Sarver, PA 16055, or Disabled American Veterans, P.O.
