Benjamin “Benny” T. Kuminkoski, 88, of Butler passed away Tuesday surrounded by his family at his farm.

He was born Dec. 13, 1927, in Butler, to the late Benjamin H. Kuminkoski and the late Valeria Ryba Kuminkoski.

Ben was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. He worked for the produce company, where he met his wife, Carmella, in Bradys Bend. He then worked for Pullman-Standard for more than 30 years as well as working on the family farm since the age of 5. He was raking hay and mowing grass up until last year.

Ben loved flea markets, yard sales and reselling things to make a buck. He also liked selling things on the phone party. Ben loved polka music, Polish food, watching old movies on TCM and the “Price is Right.” He always said “Fort Pitt, That's It” — it was one of his favorite sayings.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carmella, who he married June 21, 1952; four daughters, Gloria Schwartz of Butler, Debra (Jesse Allen) Kuminkoski of Butler, Valerie Fennell of Butler and Mary Senge and her husband, Eric, of Butler; three sons, Ben Kuminkoski of Butler, Don Kuminkoski of Butler and Anthony Kuminkoski of Albuquerque, N.M.; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his six brothers, Ted, Edward, Edmund, Herman, Bernard and Stanley Kuminkoski; his sister, Sophie Kuminkoski Weber; and his granddaughter, Gabrielle Anthony, who died in 2014.

KUMINKOSKI — Friends of Benjamin “Benny” T. Kuminkoski, who died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler, with the Rev. Harry R. Bielewicz officiating. Burial will take place at the Calvary Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N.
