Scott 100th birthday
Walter Byron Scott of Concordia Haven I in Jefferson Township, formerly of Prospect, celebrated his 100th birthday.
He was born Nov. 19, 1916, in Pittsburgh. He married the former Ottilia Haerich on May 26, 1946, in Norristown.
He has three children, Arlene Thomas of Coral Springs, Fla.; Holly Daum of Leeper; and Malia Hoffstot of Palm City, Fla.
He also has five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Scott was supervisor of the painting department at the Boca Raton Hotel in Florida and groundskeeper at Krendale Golf Course in Butler.
He is a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Cabot. He also is a member of the Mariners of Pennsylvania Merchant Marines.
Scott loves sports. He is a devoted fan of the University of Pittsburgh football team and the Pittsburgh Penguins. He enjoyed playing golf. He also enjoyed growing heirloom tomatoes and Bodacious corn.
