J. Robert Kennedy

J. Robert Kennedy, 84, of Prospect, formerly of Richland Township, died unexpectedly Monday evening while in Venice, Fla.

Born June 11, 1932, on the family farm in Pine Township, he was the son of the late DeWitt D. and Dorothy Forsythe Kennedy.

Bob was a self-employed farmer at the Kennedy farm on Bakerstown Road, and he also was a cattle dealer.

He was an active member of Mars United Presbyterian Church, where he enjoyed working on the A-Team.

Surviving are two daughters, Linda (Edward) Moody of Middlesex Township and Lisa (Ken) Holland of Prospect; three sons, James (Rhonda) Kennedy of New Philadelphia, Ohio, and David (Paula) Kennedy and Jeffrey (Karen) Kennedy, both of Prospect; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; his brother, Thomas D. (Pam) Kennedy of Gibsonia; his brother-in-law, Howard Meeder of Gibsonia; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne E. Wright Kennedy, who he married June 6, 1953, and who died Nov. 14, 2012; and one sister, Dorothy Jean Meeder.

KENNEDY — Friends of J. Robert Kennedy, who died Monday, Oct. 31, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., Mars.
